Catriona Towriss BA MSc

I graduated with a BA in Geography from Nottingham University in 2009, having developed a particular interest in the spatial dimensions of health.  I obtained my MSc in Demography and Health from LSHTM in 2010. I wrote my thesis on the impact of the 1994 genocide on fertility rates in Rwanda.

My PhD examines the differences between rural and urban fertility rates in sub-Saharan Africa, in particular the impact of urban lifesyles on contraceptive use.

My research is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.
