As Director of Communications & Engagement I lead the teams for the press office, social media, corporate comms and marketing, website, digital content, research project communications, internal communications, student comms and engagement, events, public engagement, and Centres support, plus work with extended communications teams in The Gambia and Uganda. I'm responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of LSHTM’s internal and external communications and engagement activities.

I am a member of the Executive Team, the principle body for the management and leadership of the LSHTM.

We produced the award-winning podcast LSHTM Viral exploring the science behind the COVID-19 outbreak and the global response. We have been shortlisted for Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team at the 2022 Times Higher Education Awards. We received HEIST 2018 awards for Best Postgraduate Prospectus (gold) and Best Website (bronze), and were highly commended in two categories at the Medical Journalist’s Association Awards 2017 for our Research in Action feature series. I was awarded the 2020 Health & Wellness Public Campaign Award by the Women in Marketing (WiM) Awards.

I have 20 years experience in communications and marketing, with a focus on health and science. Prior to joining LSHTM I worked with organisations including London Health Programmes, Department for Work and Pensions, Sport England, and many NHS trusts and local authorities across England. I have managed numerous multi-award winning communications and behaviour change campaigns on issues including flu vaccination, sexual health, teenage pregnancy, climate change and air quality.

I have a BA in Journalism Studies and previously worked as a radio presenter and freelance journalist. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and an alumnus of the Aurora programme for women's leadership in higher education.
