Ameer Shaheed BSc MSc

Research Degree Student

Ameer is researching water treatment interventions in Cambodia. He will be leading a randomized controlled trial, investigating the health dimensions of chlorination of community water supplies. Initially trained as a biochemist (University of Warwick, 2003), he began to explore public health during an internship in Pakistan (Aga Khan University, 2007). He subsequently read an MSc in Environmental Engineering (Imperial College London, 2008), conducting his thesis on water treatment in Nepal. From 2008-2010 he worked for the World Health Organization’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene unit. He joined LSHTM in 2010 on an MPhil/PhD program, where he is supervised by Professor Sandy Cairncross and Dr Joe Brown.
