Dr James Seddon MBBS MA MRCPCH DTM&H PGDipPID

Research Degree Student

James Seddon trained in medicine at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge and at Imperial College, London. Following paediatric training at Guys' and St. Thomas' Hospitals in London, he undertook the Diploma in Hygiene and Tropical Medicine at the LSHTM. Nine months in Cote D'Ivoire with MSF and three months on an expedition in Patagonia preceeded core paediatric registrar training in the Severn Deanery. He is currently undertaking a PhD based in Cape Town, South Africa studying multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in children.

His research focuses on the identification, diagnosis, referral and treatment of children both with MDR-TB infection and disease. He is also involved in the study of second-line TB drugs in children.
