Research
I have worked in Public Health - Sexual Health and Research throughout the Caribbean region focused primarily on Monitoring & Evaluation of HIV/AIDS programmes, Epidemiology and establishment of National Surveillance Systems and Health Evaluative Research. Currently I am in my final year of my PhD conducting research in Sexual Health. My study is investigating the Knowledge, Attitudes and Sexual History Taking Practices of Primary Care Physicians toward Sexual Health of Middle-aged and Older Patients. This study discloses the positives and negatives of the impacts of ‘social aging’ and chronic diseases on sexuality of my study population (patients over 45years old) and the role of the primary care physician with regards to competence and comfort in communicating and addressing sexual health needs of these patients.
