Professional Support Pathway Media Manager

About Jenny Orton

The School's Media Manager, responsible for overseeing all media activity and managing the press office.

Managing the School's media relations to raise the profile of the organisation and enhance its reputation. I lead the busy press office team, promoting School research and expertise, and responding to journalist requests for expert comment and interviews on breaking news stories. We work closely with reseachers across the School as well as print, online, TV and radio outlets around the world. We run the press office social media accounts, sharing key news and events, and we are also responsible for approving and overseeing any filming that takes place on site.

I have several years’ experience in media and communications. Prior to joining the School in 2013, I worked first at a London PR agency and then in the press team at Royal Museums Greenwich, where I was responsible for delivering high profile media campaigns for the Royal Observatory and Cutty Sark.

I give several lectures a year on communicating public health and science in the media to Master's and research degree students.
