Teaching

I have taught on several modules related to statistics, epidemiology and public health while at LSHTM both face-to-face and distance learning. This included organizing, developing and delivering lectures and seminars, setting and marking exams. I also worked in the team of programme directors for MSc Public Health for several years including leading on two recent 5-year external reviews.

Research

My main research interest is public health. The specific studies I have been involved with in the last few years relate to commercial determinants of health, management of weight in primary care; suicide in South Asians, sexual health and alcohol consumption. I have played a substantial part in the studies I have been involved in, leading and managing the whole project, being responsible for the study design, co-ordination and data management, statistical analyses, literature searching and review, writing up the results for publication and preparation of material for presentation at scientific conferences.
