I have a BSc in Medical Microbiology from Newcastle University and spent several years working in the laboratory before studying for an MSc in Epidemiology at LSHTM in 2008/9. I then joined UCL working on ‘Flu Watch’ a UK based observational cohort study, before joining LSHTM in June 2011.

I work on an NIHR grant investigating the epidemiology of severe lower respiratory tract infections in older individuals in the UK.
