I am a Senior Programme Manager with extensive experience of working with African NGOs - in particular ZAMBART based in Zambia, Desmond Tutu TB Centre (DTTC), Stellenbosch University, and Health Systems Trust in Cape Town. I am responsible for the operational management of several large multi-centred projects, including: preparing, managing and monitoring program budgets, drafting protocols, advising and coordinating partner reporting, mentoring our partner institutions on all aspects of grant and project management, and assisting in the preparation of grant proposals.
I am currently the Interim Programme Manager for the CREATE PhD Programme, funded by Wellcome responsible for the administrative, logistical and financial management of the programme and reporting of complex budgets, liaison with partners and the funder and human resource management. The programme provides three-year fellowships to health care professionals to undertake research on five cross-cutting themes, namely Infectious disease, Sexual and reproductive health, Maternal, child and adolescent health, Non-communicable diseases and Mental health. The CREATE PhD Programme is a partnership between five UK universities and six African partner institutions. The Programme has a specific focus in improving research training and culture and ensuring that is inclusive, equitable and diverse. I support the development and implementation of innovative strategies to achieve this, working in collaboration with all partner institutions in the UK and Africa. www.create-phd.org.
