I undertook my first degree in Biology at Portsmouth University. I then went on to do my PhD at The Institute for Animal Health, in association with the University of Surrey, entitiled 'The different roles of autophagy during Picornavirus infections'.
I have joined the LSHTM to continue working with microscopes to investigate host-pathogen interactions at a cellular level.

Liz provides training and assistance to staff and students in use of a Zeiss LSM 510 confocal microscope and the Pixcell II laser capture microdissection microscope. Liz is also involved in demonstrating on immunology/molecular biology practicals throughout the year.
