Dr Andrea Low BSc MD MSc

Research Fellow

I completed a BSc in Marine Biology from the University of British Columbia and then subsequently studied medicine at McGill University in Canada.  Since graduating, I have finished training in Internal Medicine and have specialized in Infectious Diseases.  I then worked as an Infectious Disease consultant at the Rockefeller University Hospital and as a physician/scientist at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Centre in New York City, where I studied the transmission of drug resistant variants of HIV.  I have since completed an MSc in Epidemiology at LSHTM.

I am currently working as a Wellcome Trust Fellow in the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Faculty at LSHTM, where I am studying genital shedding of HIV and transmission in female sex workers in Burkina Faso.
