After obtaining a degree in Biological Sciences from Sussex University I joined LSHTM to do a PhD supervised by Dr David Horn, investigating the control of gene expression in African trypanosomes. I took up my current post as Assistant Trial Manager in the Clinical Trials Unit in September 2007.

Teaching
Over the past 2 years I have worked as a tutor on the Distance Learning MSc Clinical Trials (http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/prospectus/masters/dmsct.html).
Research
I work in group that is interested in improving outcomes for patients in emergency bleeding conditions.
Currently I am working on the WOMAN Trial which aims to assess the effect of an antifibrinolytic (tranexamic acid) as a treatment for postpartum haemorrhage (http://www.womantrial.lshtm.ac.uk/).
Previously I have worked on the CRASH-2 trial (Clinical Randomisation of an Anti-fibrinolytic in Significant Haemorrhage), the CRASH2 Intracranial Bleeding Study and the BRAIN Trial (Bradykinin B2 Receptor Antagonist in Neurotrauma).
