Teaching

I teach on the study units Basic Epidemiology, Epidemiology & Control of Communicable Diseases, and Modelling & the Dynamics of Infectious Diseases.

Research

For my PhD, I am using mathematical modelling to investigate the effects of school closures (both routine and reactive) on contact patterns and the transmission of childhood infections (chickenpox and parvovirus B19) and influenza. I am supervised by Punam Mangtani at LSHTM and Emilia Vynnycky at the HPA, and the project is funded by the National Institute for Health Research.

I also currently work on the Born in Bradford Allergy and Infection Study. This study is part of the Born in Bradford birth cohort study, and aims to investigate the effect of age at infection with common herpesviruses on immune function and the development of atopy.
