My research centres on environmental health risk assessment, particularly in the areas of indoor and outdoor air pollution.

Teaching

I am the Module Organiser for the Distance Learning Public Health stream MSc module Environmental Health and Sustainable Development, and have been teaching on this and other in house environmental and epidemiological modules at LSHTM since 2000.

Research

I have contributed to several housing-related projects including evaluating the health impacts of fitting trickle ventilators to replacement windows; an investigation into neuropsychological function and indoor CO exposure in low income households; and the health impact evaluation of the national Warm Front home energy efficiency programme.

Other areas have included health risk assessment of occupational exposures to PAH; road traffic injuries; and investigating the relationship between particulate matter, its oxidative potential and inflammatory markers.
