Research Fellow (Clinical)

I have a Wellcome funded Research Training Fellowship to investigate the time dependence of sepsis.  This involves two prospective cohort studies called (SPOT)light and (SPOT)id both on the National Institute of Health Research portfolio.  You can follow their progress on our study blog at http://spotlightstudy.org/.

My background is in clinical medicine, and I am currently a year 4 SpR in Anaesthesia based between UCLH and the Royal Free.  With colleagues at UCLH, I set up and run a small but successful course training junior doctors in the basics of intensive care.  I will return to complete my clinical training (in anaesthesia and intensive care) at the end of this PhD.

My other interest is in the care of the critically ill adult in resource poor settings on the back of three stints working with Medecins Sans Frontieres.
