Professor of Epidemiology

Andrew Hall qualified in medicine at Guy's Hospital and trained in epidemiology at Southampton and LSHTM. He has lived and worked in Papua New Guinea and The Gambia. He is Chairman of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) and of the National Expert Panel on New and Emerging Infections (NEPNEI).

He is a member of the WHO SAGE working group on hepatitis A.

His main interests are teaching, prevention of liver cancer, vaccine preventable diseases and vaccination.

Andy teaches on the MSc in epidemiology and supervises research degree students in infectious disease epidemiology.

Research

Current research is in: Hepatitis B vaccination, liver cancer, the role of Herpes viruses in the aetiology of atopy and the role of NK cells in infection and vaccination response.
