Catherine Falconer BSc MSc PhD

Research Fellow

After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2005, I completed a MSc at the University of Bristol in 'Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health'. I then returned to Birmingham from 2006-2009 to complete a PhD entitled 'The metabolic and environmental determinants of obesity in childhood and adolescence'. I was then employed by the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority to produce a report evaluating the existing approaches and provision for the treatment of children with obesity and co-morbidities before joining LSHTM in June 2010 to work on an NIHR funded project to improve the diagnosis and management of obesity in UK children.
