Helen Edwards's Background

From 1st Aug 2010 Helen Edwards title became Faculty Administrator in line with a School-wide change of nomenclature. Helen Edwards was Departmental Administrator in ITD from its inception on 1st Aug 1997. Her role in the Faculty is to advise the Faculty Head on the management of resources, maintain and provide management information and ensure the smooth running of the Faculty. The Faculty Head is Professor Simon Croft.

Helen also jointly manages a team of 4 Department Administrators who contribute to the efficient administration of the Faculty.

From 1st Aug 1997 to 30th June 2002 she worked with Department Head Peter Smith; from 1st July 2002 to 31st December 2007 with Department Head Hazel Dockrell; and from 1st Jan 2008 with Department Head Simon Croft.

Previous to her role as ITD Departmental Administrator Helen was seven years as Departmental Administrator in EPS (now EPH). Helen first joined the School in January 1979, working for Peter Smith and Valerie Beral in the Epidemiology Department. From 1987 to 1990 Helen worked in the voluntary sector as Administrator in a housing and homelessness charity.
