Research Fellow (Adolescent Health/Child Disability)

Background

I joined LSHTM in 2010, after working at the Thomas Coram Research Unit (Faculty of Children and Health, IOE, University of London), and as an HIV/AIDS advisor for CAFOD. I have a masters in Health Promotion (LSHTM), and have spent time living overseas in Indonesia and Ecuador, working in programme development, teaching, and operational research.

Principles in social research

Research

I am a member of the International Centre for Evidence in Disability (ICED), and conduct qualitative research on a variety of research projects, with a focus on children and young people with disabilities. This has included work in Kenya, Cameroon and India, and currently Ghana. I am particularly interested in research which focuses on children and adolescents, use of mixed methods including participatory research tools, and operational research.
